Emerging Winemakers Competition and Symposium

The Competition

Since 2018, the Competition has been held at Yavapai College Campus, Clarkdale, Arizona. It is organized and conducted by the Yavapai College Grand Crew, a viticulture and enology student/alumni. It is supported by the Friends of the Southwest Wine Center and the Verde Valley Wine Consortium. Since 2018, we’ve seen some amazing wine styles and look forward to the coming year’s competition.

Yavapai College is pleased to present the sixth Emerging Winemakers Competition and Symposium on Saturday, April 13, 2024. The event is organized by the Viticulture and Enology Department of Yavapai College.  The Friends of the Southwest Wine Center and the Verde Valley Wine Consortium are supporters again.  An “emerging” winemaker is any person at least twenty-one (21) years of age and whose wine is unavailable commercially.  The Competition Judges are independent wine industry professionals who will provide confidential feedback to each winemaker after the event. During the Symposium, there will be seminars of interest to emerging winemakers and wine industry enthusist.
